    Statement of Purpose: As people with the disease of lymphedema we meet to give each other emotional support by listening, sharing, being hopeful and using positive approaches to issues surrounding lymphedema. We ask that group participants keep confidentiality about shared personal information.
    We emphasize learning by acquiring and sharing resources and information about lymphedema and treatments. We do not give medical advice to each other or advocate specific treatments or practitioners.
    We promote:
    >Increased lymphedema awareness.
    > Expanded research on lymphedema treatment and cure.
    > The training of more lymphedema specialists and medical personnel.
    > Required payment by medical insurance companies for medical apparatus, treatment, medication and surgery for the disease of lymphedema.
