Free Support Groups

Due to the guidelines in place to prevent spread of the Corona Virus, we are holding support groups only on web-based platforms at this time.

 

Please note: this means that anyone in the State of New Mexico who wishes to join a cancer support group may participate on a web-based platform during this time!

The groups listed below designated with *** are meeting on Zoom or on another web-based meeting platform during this time. To join a group on Zoom, please call our Helpline and we will connect you with the group facilitator, who will send you an invitation to join the group. For all those who are unable to attend a group on a web-based platform, youmay use any cell or landline phone to call in and participate in one of these groups by phone. For those groups not presently meeting on a web-based platform, facilitators are providing direct support by phone, as needed. Please call the Helpline to be connected to facilitator-provided

phone support and/or to a web-based support group.

WRITE TO HEAL

Program sponsored by the Cancer Foundation for New Mexico and underwritten by Stephen and Jane Hochberg. A FREE ONLINE WRITING  WORKSHOP based on (but not limited by) the life-changing diagnosis of cancer This workshop for cancer patients and survivors offers "expressive writing" as a way of healing. While writing may not cure,  it can heal, according to scientific studies. Especially in this time  of great uncertainty, writing and sharing our stories with others on parallel paths will be our avenue to reclaim our voices, and reconnect with our lives. This is a support group for individuals living with an ostomy and their caregivers and families. It is also for those who may need to have an ostomy and want to learn more about it.
